We protect wildlife offspring from certain death by the mowing
- We offer the detection of juveniles in fields with the help of latest multicopter technologies
- SYSWE relies on high-resolution optical and thermographic camera systems to precisely locate the thermal signature and confirm the find with an optical system
- Within a few minutes, several hectares of field can be flown
Detection of young animals in the field with thermography
During the breeding season (1. April to 15. July) a large number of animals die because of the mowing. The young wild animals like fawn and the young rabbit and also the eggs of many ground breeders are affected. In the first days after birth the instinct reaction of the wild animals is not to flee, they look for protection in the high grass. That means the certain death for the young animals while the spring mowing.
To save the young animals from the ceratin death because of the mowing, a thermographic camera system on a drone can detect the thermal signature of the young animals. The detection is done comfortable with the drone from the air, therefore numerous hectare of field can be inspected within a few minutes to find wild animals.
The search for young animals by drone with thermography should be done in the early hours or in the late evening. In these time periods the temperature difference between the young animals and the environment is very high. With the rising sun, the temperature difference between animal and environment is getting lower, so the detectability decreases.
How can SYSWE assist in wildlife rescue?
We are happy to assist you and carry out the search for wild animals. With our professional drone system Matrice 210 RTK from DJI and our high-resolution optical and thermographic camera systems, no young animal remains undiscovered. Thanks to powerful batteries, a flight time between 25 and 30 minutes is possible, in which a large area can be searched without battery replacement.
If you would like to carry out the search independently, we will gladly provide you with a drone system as a loan. The Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual has a visual and thermal imaging camera to detect juveniles in the field. As an expansion module, a loudspeaker can be mounted on the drone to acoustically disturb wildlife. With a take-off mass of 1100 g, according to current legislation, no proof of knowledge (drone driver license) is required for the drone and can be flown by anyone.
